Moorview House B&B is ideally placed for exploring the North Devon coast. 
 
We are only 3 miles from Bideford, also known as the “Little White Town”, which is situated on the River Torridge. In the other direction you have the pretty town of Great Torrington which is also home to The Royal Horticultural Society’s Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Glass and the 1646 civil war heritage Center.

Walking and Cycling 
For walkers and cyclists there are many country lanes to explore plus we are close to The famous Tarka Trial which offers 180 miles of walks/cycle routes with stunning scenery. The little known and peaceful Huntshaw Woods is close by. 
 
 
 
 
Fishing 
For keen fishermen there are the 1.5 acre lakes at Gammaton and Gammaton Reservoirs. Other local coarse fishing lakes are easily accessible as well as excursions for sea fishing.

Surfers 
For surfers we are within a short drive to the popular surfing spots of Westward Ho!, Croyde, Woolacombe and Putsborough Sands. 
 
 
 
 
Pub Going and Food 
There are 2 local pubs, The Hunters Inn and The Cyder Presse within a few minutes drive and an array of restaurants and bars in nearby Bideford, Appledore and Westward Ho! 
 
A farm shop at the end of the lane offers a full range of local produce, our local Tescos is within a few minutes drive and branches of Morrisons, Asda, Aldi and Lidl can be found in Bideford. 
 
 
 
 
Explorers 
The market town of Barnstaple with its listed Pannier market is within a scenic 20-minute drive. 
 
Nearby waterfront village, Appledore, is a short drive away and the magical unspoilt island of Lundy can be reached by ferry from Bideford. The national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor are both within a short drive from Moorview House and the breathtaking coastline around Hartland are closeby.

Hartland Abbey and Quay - Built in the 12th Century, Hartland Abbey survived as a monastery longer than any other in the country, now a private home 
Ilfracombe - Traditional seaside town and beach 
Instow - Our closest beach, with great walks and some good restaurants 
Lynton and Lynmouth - Riverside and clifftop villages linked by the Victorian Cliff railway, great walks along the valley 
Westward Ho! - Small seaside town with a large sandy beach bordered by the scenic Northam Burrows Country Park and golf course. Selection of restaurants and bars. Perfect walk for our 4 legged friends 
RHS Garden Rosemoor- Just outside Torrington, 65 acres of formal and informal planting resulting in magical gardens and enchanting woodland walks
